While this vacation craze is seasonal, the websites and information they provide must be well prepared to attract repeat visitors the next vacation season.

www.travelguidesfree.com is more akin to a vacation planning tool than an actual information website. It provides brochures, planning kits, and maps of all 50 states and Canada for free. While it hard to say exactly how it generates revenue, the website is a service website. After choosing a destination, all available brochures are pulled up and can be added to a cart. Fill out the form with your name and address and your brochures will be sent. The fact that you do not have to enter any payment method or information lends credence to the fact that this is a service website.

The content of site consists of various regions of America, the Caribbean, and Canada. That’s it. It simply has a map, and a break of regions in tab form to simplify the search process. A list of all 50 states can also be found. Concerning content; this website possesses a good content that is capable of serving the needs of all the users; professional writing style revealed. The content is well organized with no grammar mistakes; content is very direct it goes directly to the “point” that is helping the users planning a good trip by providing useful tips and travel brochures and vacation maps.

With regards to the quality of information available, there is no real information provided. It simply gives you the ability to download brochures or have them shipped to you. It’s not clear why anyone would pick shipping when they can have the information they need immediately. The brochures the site provides are quite helpful and often times, there are two or more brochures per travel destination with different information and sights to see. Although the brochure provides useful information, it is not a reflection of the usefulness of the site, as these brochures can be picked up at local stores and hotels.

Visually, the website a little drab. The predominant color is brown with the words and brochure appearing on a white background. It does not appear to have taken a lot of time or effort to put the visual aspect together. There are no real graphics to speak about as the site is set up more for efficiency and ease of use than for the sake of being flashy. Despite its less than vacation oriented look, the site still manages to look rather professional, albeit, a lackluster one.

The organization of the site is easy to follow and navigate. It’s got tabs on top to help narrow the search by region and all 50 states on the side for an even narrower search. It would appear that the designers of www.travelguidesfree.com put some thought into the websites navigation ease. Then again, when all you’re doing is browsing through brochures, you would hope that the process would be easy.

Its best feature by far is the download option. It is really the only reason We can see the point of a service website that offers only brochures. Although We are curious about why the information on the brochure was not simply put on the site, We can’t really complain because either way, We get to read up on places without leaving our home.

The idea is good and definitely provides a service to people by giving brochures which are packed with all the fun information and non of the dreary historical facts. That said, the color scheme of the site needs to be revamped to match the concept. While downloading the brochures is definitely a nice touch, it would be great if you did not have to put in your information, like you would for shipping, before being able to download.

Overall, www.travelguidesfree.com is a decent website but cannot truly compare with other vacation oriented sites. Its need to know our address even when we are simply downloading the information leads us to believe that our mailbox and email will be spammed.

Knoema

Business
<guid

Everything is simply a click away. The community boards are extremely user friendly and provide the browser with a wealth of information and discussion that many other statistic websites do not offer. The design is simple and appealing and effectively reflects the sharp, crisp nature of the information it offers the public.

The focus of the website is to supply people with graphical statistical information. The website appeals to cater to economists and market researchers, however this website would be incredibly useful to the high school or college student writing a paper on the GDP of Ghana or the export rate of automobiles in China. The individual categories, when clicked on, also provide relevant data sets and user comments to help the browser with finding other information for their use. User comments invite discussion and are professional and courteous.

The usability of this site is incredibly easy and efficient. The website is designed in a minimalist fashion, cutting down on the flashy graphics and the noisy advertisement. The website is concise and efficient and greatly appreciates user feedback. The website offers not only information but economic apps as well for your computer and phone. These are simple and easy to use as well and some of them are user created. Though many terms and jargon is not explained, the user community is helpful and more than willing to fill gaps in any information provided by the website. The user feedback is extremely positive and many users report wanting to continue using the site.

Blog.captainzone

technology

Website Reviews
<guid

It’s fairly new; that is probably why there are still several empty pages greeting us when we follow the navigation links at the top of this website.

There are five main categories presented in this blog: Military, Mobile, Photography, Sport, and Web. As of now, the most active category is Mobile, which as the name indicated contains the site’s reviews and information on various mobile gadgets, such as phones or tablets. Following that, is Web and Photography. Web category contains information on web browser and related gadgets that allow one to connect to the internet. As for, Photography, it relates the benefits of camera types.

The layout itself is clear and concise. Everything is put where you can see it. Makes navigating through the website very easy. The navigation bars are placed at the top of the website. The first tier is for Home and Gallery. (The latter leads you to an empty gallery.) The second tier contains the five main categories listed in previous paragraphs.

This website still have many rough edges to go over. And we are not just speaking of the links that lead you to nowhere. While tech-savvy and useful for people who need such information on new technology, it needs more interactive aspect, or anything that sets it apart from other resource blog: either by improving the writings itself, or the website layout and navigations. Otherwise, it’s just carbon copy of hundreds other similar blogs.

Photobotos

Entertainment

Website Reviews
<guid

The website also allows guests to comment on the images and share them on various social networking sites. PhotoBotos.com uploads a new image daily with a detailed description from the site creators and featured photographers.

The purpose of the website is to simply showcase images from photographers with uncanny talent. Featured photographers may also offer hints and advice on how to capture such spectacular photographs. The website’s featured photographers are not paid or compensated in any way for the pictures they have taken. Moreover, the website’s creators are not paid by the photographers to be featured in Photobotos.com. The website is generally informative, with the main goal of sharing amazing pictures and helping other photographers capture better pictures.

PhotoBotos.com also provides reviews of photography-related products. Product reviews are written by site administrators and guest reviewers alike. So as to remain genuine and transparent, the website mainly features product reviews of items they have personally used. Seeing the possibility of having to write reviews of products they have not had their hands on, however, PhotoBotos.com assures those who visit their site and read its content that they will only use references that are reliable and will not recommend products that have not gained their utmost trust and confidence.

PhotoBotos is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com. Occasionally, individuals might see links that take them to a product’s page on Amazon.com. Each purchase gives the website a commission from the sale.

The information that PhotoBotos.com provides are quite helpful. They are very much informative and are essential for newbie photographers. However, very little actual information is presented. Instead of focusing on the helpful tips, the website gives emphasis to the photograph descriptions – something that readers, especially photographers, may not appreciate that much.

The website is presented in a black background and a simple layout. Although what matters most are the images, others may find its visual design very dull and boring. Moreover, the website’s logo is quite difficult to understand and relate to photography. The website also lacks the air of professionalism essential to its content, what with the simple layout and litter of advertisements. However, the photographs they feature are commendable and more than makes up for everything the visual design lacks.

Another problem with the posts and contents in PhotoBotos.com is their lack of organization. Although readers can easily navigate through pictures, the product reviews suddenly springing at them can be quite confusing. The website should have a means of segregating posts about images and those about product reviews to improve its organization.

It is undeniable that PhotoBotos.com is a great website featuring amazing images and product reviews. However, it should look into developing and improving the website in order to remain in the mainstream and gather more guests visiting their pages, and photographers submitting their photographs.

Fitbrains

Entertainment

Games
<guid

It has about twenty four unique games, divided in five categories, each specializing in improving different area of your brain, such as language, memory, concentration, visual-spatial, and problem solving.

These brain-games are highly addictive. Take a game, Busy Bistro, for example. The visual is good looking, with attractive character arts and bright colors. The gameplay itself is better. Players get to be the apprentice of a chef with a variety of great recipes, but a poor memory for the finer points.Your task is to help the chef remember the finishing details on his delightful creation of culinary genius. This game helps you to improve your short and long-term aspects of memory, or in other words, lessening the tendency of forgetting where you had placed your keys!

Other thing that makes this website on the win column is various educational articles and trivias on brain. Under each game, you will find several paragraphs of exposition on the benefit of the game and how can it improve your brain. If you have more time to read at leisure, you can find more information under the Science tab at the top of the website. Here, there are introductory to brain health science as well as facts of scientific studies.

The only drawback from this otherwise very cool site is the layout. It could do with more bravado and fun layout, considering the best selling point of the site is, frankly, the games. As of now, the website is quite professional looking, with the usage of cool colors like green and blue peppering the layout.

Well, think faster, be smarter! Installing their telephone adapter is easy and inexpensive and requires no PSTN line. Using the VoIP technology only needs an internet connection, and individuals will see how easy it is to make cheap international calls and long distance calls. EasyPhonia can provide fixed line numbers and the like. It will be easy to stay close to customers, business partners, family and friends having local phone numbers in their location. EasyPhonia allows people to forward and receive the calls wherever they want – office, home, and even their mobile. Callers will pay local call rates when they call anyone with EasyPhonia.

The website is purely commercial in nature and promotes services. EasyPhonia provides information on its services and rates and makes it accessible to everyone. Moreover, guests are given the chance to contact the company to inquire or voice out their concerns. People are also invited to register and join the website’s online community. The information presented is clear and concise, giving those who visit the site full understanding of its services. Moreover, the website provides several scenarios and how to respond to them. There are also technical solutions that show how much the company values its customers and is willing to support them.

The visual design of EasyPhonia is quite nifty. They are able to make use of a simple design and layout that stands out among other websites. The logo itself more than speaks for the company’s services and goals. The organization of information is to be commended. Informations are grouped in such a way that individuals can easily navigate through them and find what they are actually looking for.

EasyPhonia.com is able to achieve a professional look that can greatly affect how possible customers might look at the company. Through this, more and more are encouraged to inquire and avail of the services offered by the company. However, the website should take note of the many grammar and spelling errors that can be found in the contents of their website. It can badly affect the company’s image and may be a reason why some individuals approach the company with apprehension. There are also some faults and flaws with its navigation, particularly with the FAQs section. Selecting the FAQs hyperlink actually leads one to a dead end. The page contains no substantial posts. Folks at EasyPhonia.com should look into this and find ways to improve their system.

All in all, it is a great website fit for such a company. However, there are quite a number of mistakes in the website that needs to be corrected. Larger fonts can be beneficial to the readability of the posts, which are at present somewhat difficult to read. The grammar and spelling needs rehabilitation. Programmers should also decide as to whether maintain the FAQs page which s currently of no use at all or eliminate it. However, despite its flaws, it is to be admitted that the website is nice.

Southwestweddingguild

Business

Shopping

Website Reviews
<guid

The tabs on the top bar lend themselves to swift website navigation and take you to where you need to be. The wedding services list is on the right sidebar and allows the viewer to quickly get to where they need to go.

For much better ease of use on the Homepage it may best to see all the services when you come to the site for instance when you first arrive at the site you are met with very little information. From the bottom of the Banner to the top of the page takes up at least two thirds on most computer screens and maybe this needs to be attended to in order to keep some people from leaving too early.

The most important part of any website is what kind of content they actually have on the site and the lead-in to each service provider is very well done, Website Review do especially like the wedding tips page and this looks like an obvious marketing point for us. People love wedding tips and wedding lists and if you can draw them into the site with this then you’ve hit a home run. Website Review enjoyed the content on the site and it all seems quite pleasing to the eye.

The site as it states has a comprehensive range of approved wedding service providers. When you first land on the site it is made very well aware that the site you are on is linked to weddings by the very pretty slideshow banners set in the local area.

The focus of the site is to allow speculating Brides and Grooms in the Southwest of England to easily find services in the local area. These are grouped into Wedding services that include amongst others; cakes, gifts, filming, hair and beauty, catering and many more. The site has a great list of wedding service providers and advertisers and this is it’s absolute best feature and as this list of services grows within the area the site should be the first port of call for advertising.

The message on the first instant is not as clear as it should be but by scrolling down you then understand exactly what the site is for, our feeling is that the page ‘above the fold’ which is what visitors see when they first log on should give slightly more detail on the purpose of the site. Maybe a top banner next to the title logo would help in drawing visitors in and keeping them on the site for longer. But once you realise the services being offered then you know exactly where to go.

Overall it is a very pretty site with some nice colours and as mentioned before a fantastic large array of advertisers and their services available to those in need of all manner of Wedding services. If you are planning a wedding in this area or even further afield then you need take a look here.

How To Choose A Good Domain Name?

Site Blog
<guid

A domain name is like an address and the website is like the house, with that said if you need someone to find your house/site you need to have an address, one that is easily remembered, one that stands out in the visitor’s mind.

Generic Domain.
Everyone wants a great generic domain name. Some companies even paid ridiculously high prices to get the name they want. Domain names like www.cars.com or www.website.com are great keywords because they instantly provide the user with an idea of what business is all about, what to expect and what to look in a site. If you can’t get a 1 word generic then try and find 2 or 3 word ones that are relevant to the subject you are searching. Like Website Review – www.websitereview.net. Or if you operate in a local business consider adding your city or state locality to your domain name. For example, if you cell phones in Texas, a possible domain name would be texascellphones.com.

Long or Short.
Some say that short domains are better while some are more into long domains, but it’s all up to you and your preference because they both have their advantages and disadvantages, it all depends on if you market your site effectively. However it is recommended that you don’t make your domain name get over 46 characters because this is hard to remember due to its enormous length.

Domain Extensions.
Your domain name is made up of two parts: your “domainname” followed by a “dot extension” or TLD (top level domain). Most business owners will register their domain name with one or all three of the most popular extensions: .com, .net, and .org. However, there are many other domain name extensions that could be appropriate to your website content including .info, .biz, .mobi, .tv, etc. Below are some popular extensions and what they mean. They are sorted in terms of popularity.

.com
represents the word “commercial,” and is the most widely used extension in the world. Most businesses prefer a .com domain name because it is a highly recognized symbol for having a business presence on the internet.
.net
represents the word “network,” and is most commonly used by internet service providers, Webhosting companies or other businesses that are directly involved in the infrastructure of the internet. Additionally, some businesses choose domain names with a .net extension for their intranet websites.
.org
represents the word “organization,” and is primarily used by non-profits groups or trade associations.
.biz
is used for small business websites.
.info
is for credible resource Web sites and signifies a “resource” website. It’s the most popular extension beyond .com, .net and .org.
.mobi
is reserved for websites built for easy viewing on mobile devices.
.us
is for American websites and is the newest extension. It has the largest amount of available names in inventory.
.biz
was originally designated as the country code for Belize, but is now commonly used by small business who can’t get the name they want using the .biz extension. It is unrestricted and may be registered by anyone, from any country.
.tv
is for rich content/multi-media websites, commonly used within the entertainment or media industry.
.co.uk
is the country code for United Kingdom. The .co portion of the extension indicates the domain name is for commercial purposes (similar to a standard .com extension). It is unrestricted and may be registered by anyone, from any country.
.edu
this domain extension used for high schools and college related sites which are mostly informative. They offer information on school subject topics, top schools, courses etc.
.gov
is used for websites run by branches of the United States government.

Copyright Infringement.
This is a mistake that isn’t made too often, but can can be very serious and ruin a great company when it does. You can use the online search function of the US Copyright Office if you have doubts about copyright issues for a particular domain name.

In Conclusion:
Your domain name should be easy to remember and memorable. It should be suggestive of your business category or related to your business, it should be unique, easy to interpret and pronounce, should be personalized, and not difficult to spell. But whatever method you use for choosing a domain name, there are always exceptions to the rule. Think about , twitter.com, amazon.com. Their name is now their brand, but it was the one that had to be built from scratch.

Rotten Tomatoes

Entertainment

Recreation

Reference

Website Reviews

Website Review was very familiar with www.rottentomatoes.com before rating it. This site is one that many people frequent before venturing out to pay ever increasing prices at the box office. It has literally everything movies, from ratings, movie clips and trailers, top DVD rentals and newly released DVDs to picture galleries and quizzes. If you want to know something about a movie, this is the site to find it. The top menu includes Movies, DVD, Celebrities, News, and Critics. One of the best features that Website Review likes is that you can see ratings from movies goers as well as critics.

The main page of Rotten Tomatoes has a ton of information on it. Movies on this page are categorized by Top Box Office, Opening, Coming Soon, and Most Anticipated. DVDs are broken down into Top Rentals and New on DVD This Week. Also on the main page is a search window for you to find anything you’re looking for. Website Review likes how movies that are rated high are given a plump red tomato, while movies that are rated low have a green splat next to them.

The main page on Rotten Tomatoes doesn’t have any advertising, but on other pages there is some. The advertising is kept to the outer areas on the screen, so it hardly distracts from the content of the page you’re looking at.

Another feature Website Review likes is how if you click on the Celebrities tab from the main menu, it takes you to a page where it has pictures of actors that are starring in movies that are currently out. You can also look up virtually any actor and see all of their films, how they were rated and year they came out, and how they did at the box office. Each celebrity has a short bio of them and tells when and where they were born.

Website Review really likes everything on www.rottentomatoes.com. The information is up to date and there is tons of it. We highly recommend this site to anyone looking for anything to do with movies.

Rivals

Entertainment

Sports

Website Reviews

Website Review was familiar with www.rivals.com before deciding to rate it. This is one of those go-to sites for anyone who is looking for information on professional, college, and even high school sports teams. This site has a ton of information as well as interesting articles. The main landing page of Rivals is a bit busy, but easy to read. At times the advertising seems to blend in so well with the regular features that you find yourself reading it as if it were something you wanted to look at. This can get annoying.

Website Review likes how the main menu is so extensive. It has NFL, MLB, NASCAR, Boxing, Tennis, Action Sports, and everything in between. You can even get information on sports that aren’t popular in the U.S., such as cricket and rugby. Under the More tab, there are fun topics such as Rumors, Odds, and Most Emailed.

Website Review feels that one of the best features about Rivals is their blog. Some days there can be more than several blogs about a variety of topics. Some are serious in nature, while others are just downright funny. The writing is fun to read and many of the blogs are accompanied by pictures or videos. There are numerous people who blog for them and if you find one you really like, you can click on their name and it will take you to their other blogs. Rivals also lists how many blogs each contributor has written.

Just under the main menu is a Trending Now tab. This lists all of the latest popular topics people may be looking up, for example, certain athletes or spring training.

Website Review likes how the main page has a search window. This is a great feature if you’re looking to find something fast. There are also football rankings and a recruit search near the bottom of the page.

Website Review thinks all of the information available on www.rivals.com is worth the price of all the ads. For sports enthusiasts, this site can keep you busy for hours and you’ll walk away with all the latest news and information.
