With over a decade working for the world’s largest internet company, Google, Matt Cutts brings unbeatable expertise and insight into the world of search engine optimization (SEO). Matt currently heads Google’s webspam team, controlling unwanted search results from appearing for users of Google’s immensely popular search engine. In addition to holding down this high profile full time position at Google, Matt runs a popular blog, manages a non-profit organization, regularly speaks at SEO and other web events, and has recently completed his first novel. As one reader of Matt’s blog stated, Matt is “one of the most influential webcentric minds.”

Matt Cutts’ blog is one of the best sources for authoritative information on SEO, Google, and web trends in general.

Readers of Matt’s blog are instantly educated by Mr. Cutts’ clever but easy-to-understand diction. Different than other tech blogs, Matt’s Blog is clean and simple in appearance, and contains straightforward advice and musings on current search engine optimization trends and practices. Other topics that Matt chooses to reflect on are up to him, but his prompt responses are geared towards providing a free service for those who read. One really gets a view into the life of this influential Googler, as Matt often discusses other topics of interest, such as his wife. All writings of his wife are quite positive, and he seems very dedicated to his marriage.

A recent project was to take part in a challenge to write a novel in a month’s time. Much to the amazement of his followers, Matt was able to pound out a 50,000 plus word techno-thriller novel within a 30 day period. Of course, for the venture, Matt used the very extensible Google Docs cloud-based word processor. It is things like this that make Matt one of SEO’s most championed leaders. Reading from his blog, one gets a sense of excitement and power to accomplish things, both in SEO and in life, that were previously thought to be improbable.

One of the greatest services which Matt Cutts provides is the set of responses he gives to user questions and comments on a Google Moderator page, which is linked from Matt’s Blog. From here, Matt responds to top user questions regarding SEO and Google. The information touches on topics ranging from how social media sites interact with Google to 302 re-directs.

The blog of Matt Cutts receives lots of attention from other innovative SEO practitioners. For instance, Matt once again posed the “CEO of Google” scenario to his readers. Matt wanted to gauge what products and services members of the SEO community wanted to see in the near future from Google. The post got an enormous response, with several excellent ideas getting support from Matt himself.

Overall, Matt Cutts’ blog is one of the best sources for authoritative information on SEO, Google, and web trends in general. This is a great joy for those who have had enough of self-proclaimed ‘gurus’ of SEO practices.
