Website Review: Immediately upon arriving at pokersite.org, you are given their ranking of the five best poker sites of the year. Poker Site is primarily built on those reviews, but it also offers much more, like tips for players, both brand new and more experienced.

As befits poker – a game where every move can easily be measured in various numbers, ranks, and percentages – each website review on Pokersite is filled with numbers, rankings, and details. Each review is divided into several different categories, rated on a scale of 10 with a decimal place, and then those numbers are averaged for the final score. The categories include: the site’s software, its promotions, its games, and its tournaments, and its rewards for regular players.

Each section goes into meticulous numerical detail. For example, in the section on the site’s promotions, you’ll be able to find the exact workings of three or four rewards systems which may be in use on a site. The sheer amount of data combined with a writing style best described as “workmanlike” makes this information somewhat overwhelming.

It’s good that Pokersite also offers an alternate form of their website review, in video form. These videos tend to be about 10 minutes long, and they’re much more conversational than the info dumps of the written reviews. They do a much better job of conveying certain aspects of each site, especially the user interface and options available.

In addition to the general website reviews, Pokersite.org also ranks the sites in other categories, such as: how easy they are to win at, which are the best for United States-based players, Canadian players, European players, the best sites for playing with pros, high roller sites, sites for Mac and Linux-based players, and more. The different rankings can be very useful for players with specific needs, but these lists confusingly have information that isn’t available in the regular reviews of that site. For example, the list of sites rated “Easiest to Beat” is almost identical to the list of top sites, but it describes qualities of easy sites which the primary reviews lack. It’s great that there’s even more information available on Pokersites, but site users may want to check multiple sections to make certain that they have all available information.

The tips and strategy guides at Pokersite are also quite useful. Even experienced players may learn some new strategies or ways to look at the game. There are general strategy guides like “Top 10 Poker Tournament Tips” but also increasingly specific guides about each section of the tournament, from the beginning to the bubble to the final heads-up competition, with everything in-between.

Website Review Final Word: Although it’s not the most elegant site, the amount of information included at pokersite.org makes it very useful anyone interested in trying to decide what poker site to use
