When Website Review was requested to take a look at www.active.com, many of us were already using it. This site is a great place for athletes of all levels. Active has several purposes such as: registration for different types of races, articles on fitness and training for many sports, news from different kinds of sports (besides the big ones that already get so much coverage), and even training logs. If you are an active person, this is a great site to have bookmarked.

The main page of Active can seem a little busy, but is otherwise easy to use. Website Review likes how the sports are separated between endurance, team sports, golf & tennis, and outdoors. You can customize the page to your home town or to a city where you may be traveling to. There is a search bar that allows keywords or events to be typed in and gives results based on what home town was entered. While the overall site isn’t real pretty to look at, Website Review understands how great it functions. The ads can be a little annoying, but Website Review knows this makes the site profitable and pays for all of the great articles. And there are some really great articles, but a little more care should be taken to prevent several ads from the same advertiser from being shown simultaneously.

One of the best features of the Active site is that you can become a member and get discounts on a variety of things from registrations to running shoes. The annual cost is currently $59.95. If you know that you are going to be doing several races and needing any sports equipment, the membership can pay for itself quickly. There are also monthly giveaways including everything from Starbucks gift cards to camping gear to new bicycles.

Website Review recommends www.active.com for everyone who is into sports and competing. There is so much great information in the lifestyle section that it can keep you busy for hours. A membership isn’t needed to enjoy most of the sites features, but if you are active in racing it may pay for you to join.
